Types of Braces:
We use only the highest quality brackets and never use recycled brackets or wires.

3M Unitek low profile brackets: These braces are small, clean, and comfortable. APC-Adhesive Coated Appliance System ensures that no cross contamination occurs between patients.
Self-Ligating Brackets: We are committed to having our office use the most current technologies available to provide contemporary orthodontic care for our patients. For the past two years, we have been moving teeth with the new high tech self-ligating braces. Self-ligation is not just a new type of brace but a philosophy of tooth movement, using very light forces provided by these lower friction braces and heat activated shape memory wires. Tooth movement if now affected with light continuous force. In the past, traditional orthodontic care used heavy intermittent force. Research has shown that this gentle, lower friction force is more biologically sensible. The result is a greater emphasis on not removing teeth to attain our goal of a stable, healthy bite and smile.
Dr. DeMaio has spent several years evaluating the self-ligating systems that are available. He believes in the light force, lower friction philosophy and has selected the system that offers the most advantages to our patients. The DamonQ system offers a new level of control and comfort for our patients. These braces do not have the bulky “gates” that other self-ligating brackets utilize. The gates of other self-ligating brackets often break and collect plaque. The DamonQ bracket uses a newer technology that utilizes a titanium clip system to move teeth friction free. Should you come to our office and these braces are indicated, we will show you the system. These braces are also offered in a less noticeable clear (tooth-colored) design.
Clear Alternatives
We use Clarity by 3m Unitek brackets that offer a lower profile clear appearance for adults and teens.
Premier Provider
Invisalign® Treatment:
Dr. DeMaio has been well trained in Invisalign® treatment. This system uses clear aligners to straighten teeth. There can be limitations in this approach dictated by the severity or skeletal nature of the dental problem. Ask Dr. DeMaio if Invisalign® treatment is right for you.
Sterilization procedures are approved and recommended by the American Dental Association. All tissue contact instruments are thoroughly sterilized. Our sterilizers are monitered regularly to ensure their effectiveness and safety. Disposable supplies are used whenever possible and braces and wires are never recycled. |
